A campaign on prevention of dropping put from school starts in Pazardjik A campaign on prevention of dropping out from school was organized by the Complex for Social Services to Children and Families in Pazardjik and started on 23.08.2010. It was initiated with mobile social work in the Roma neighbourhood in the village of Dragor, which is one of the regions in the municipality of Pazardjik with an identified risk for children in school age to drop out. The next event of the campaign was the work meeting that took part on 24.082010 between the institutions working on the prevention of school drop outs and prevention of violence against and between children on the territory of the municipality of Pazardjik. At the meeting were discussed joined activities between the institutions for this current campaign and for the forthcoming campaign on prevention of violence against and between children. Discussed with the representative of the Regional Education Inspectorate in Pazardjik were the opportunities for the CSSCF in Pazardjik to receive accurate figures with the children that dropped out from the education system in 2009, with the children that never registered at first grade in this year and children from risk regions that never entered pre-school on the territory of the municipality. Based on these figures, the Complex will be able to embark on mobile social work with the aim of motivating parents to register their children for school, informing parents, and even accompanying children to the educational institutions. It was also agreed that the Complex will prepare timetables of the information meetings that will take place and will provide these timetables to schools in the municipality so that the schools can then share which meetings could be held with their students. The topics of the information meetings that will be organized by the CSSCF in Pazardjik are: Traffic Narcotic substances Sexually transmitted diseases and contraception Aggression/violence Hard forms of child labour
