The Social Activities and Practices Institute organises a Fifth International Conference on Integrated Approach for Fair Justice on 26 and 27 April 2016 at Ramada hotel, Sofia.
The practices of France, Italy, Romania, Belgium, etc. of implementing the requirements of Directive 2012/29/EU concerning victims of crimes will be presented at the conference along with international experience and good practices of applying the integrated approach as well the organisation’s experience gained in the course of applying child-friendly justice. Opportunities for improvement of practices to ensure the best interest of the child while meeting the needs of the judicial system will also be discussed.
The event will take place within the framework of Listen to the Child – Justice Befriends the Child project, implemented by the Social Activities and Practices Institute in partnership with the Ministry of Justice, State Agency for Child Protection, the Prosecutor’s Office of the Republic of Bulgaria, Bulgarian Paediatric Association, International Juvenile Justice Observatory and European organisations working in the field of the rights of the child from France, Romania and Italy.
The project’s aim is improvement of the situation of the child victims or witnesses of abuse, participants in legal procedures by introducing an integrated approach to the child, based on an individual assessment of their specific needs. The project supports the implementation in the country of Directive 2012/29/EU on establishing minimum standards on the rights, support and protection of victims of crime and participants in legal procedures.
