BLUE ROOMS

Since 2007, SAPI has been developing child-friendly justice practices. In 2008 it opened Bulgaria‘s first „blue room“ – a specialised room for interviewing and hearing children for the needs of the justice system, subsequently setting up more than 20 such rooms in different cities across the country. It trains professionals to mediate interviews and hearings of children in criminal and civil cases, supervises and supports methodologically their activities. SAPI‘s experience has been emulated by various state and local actors.

ZONA ZAKRILA

Since 2015, SAPI has been piloting highly specialised services that are innovative for Bulgaria – advocacy and support centres for child victims of violence, called Zona ZaKrila (the Bulgarian version of the Barnahus model) – spaces where all institutions can meet and work together for the best interest of the child.

ZONA ZAKRILA PLUS

Since 2024, SAPI has been developing Zona ZaKrila Plus, a highly specialised service, extending its reach to children perpetrators of crime and children in conflict with the law.
