EXPERT GROUP DISCUSSES ON METHODOLOGY FOR WORKING WITH YOUNG PEOPLE LEAVING ALTERNATIVE CARE

Providers of social services, independent experts, representatives of ASA, MLSP, EA, SACP gathered to discuss the development of a methodology for working with young people leaving alternative care gathered today at the Center for Public Support "Slaveykov" managed by SAPI. SAPI initiated the working group in order to develop a methodology for working with young people leaving alternative care.

The group is in connection with the project "Together after alternative care" (OUTogether). " One of the main problem areas is the preparation of children for leaving care and starting an independent life. Although there are specialized services for such children - such as transitional, sheltered and supervised housing, and a preparation plan is being made, the SAPI team believes that more can be done to prepare children for care. That is why the project "Together after alternative care" (OUTogether) aims to improve the care of children leaving alternative care.

The results of the discussions in the expert group will be SUMMARY and presented to the national institutions.
