Who We Are

Social Activities and Practicies Institute (SAPI) develops knowledge-based helping activities through research, training, pilot practices and direct social, psychological and psycho-pedagogical support to children at risk and their families.

SAPI works to introduce multi-institutional and intra-institutional practice to support children victims of violence, victims of crime, children with high risk behaviors.

SAPI opened the first "blue room" in Bulgaria and piloted innovative for our country highly specialized services - "Zona ZaKrila" ("Barnahuz") and "Zona ZaKrila Plus".

Over the 23 years of SAPI's existence, its staff have supported over 55,000 children and parents, trained over 10,000 professionals, provided over 45,000 hours of supervision and produced over 100 specialist scholarly and practice-oriented publications.

SAPI is a co-founder and full member of The Barnahus Network, The Child-Friendly Justice European Network (CFJ-EN), Eurochild, National Network for Children in Bulgaria (NNC).
