Association Social Activities and Practices Institute is organizing a three-day foster care training seminar for the representatives of the Social Support Directorates throughout the country. The training seminar will take place on the 7th, 8th and 9th of September, 2011 in Slanchev Briag.

Partners of SAPI for the organization of the training seminar are the Social Support Agency, UNICEF and the International Social Servivces - Bulgaria. The seminar is part of the project funded by UNICEF "National Foster Care Resource Centre" that SAPI implements together with the International Social Services - Bulgaria and Association "Samariani". During the training seminars the participants will have the chance to acquire basic knowledge about foster care, as a special focus will be put on the assessment and training of foster families, as well as on the role and the procedures of the Foster Care Commission. The participants will also be introduced to future projects regarding the development of foster care on a national level, which will build on the results achieved by the project "National Foster Care Resource Centre".
